About Chris Tindall
Chris was born in Yorkshire, lived and worked in Cheshire and is now settled in North Wales on the Llyn Peninsula. Married, no children but a lively ship’s cat!
Chris started sailing at the tender age of 11 in his self-built Mirror dinghy, progressing to cruise and race a Pandora Class Yacht, becoming National Champion in 1979. Since then he has raced throughout the UK as both crew and skipper on a wide variety of yachts.
He gained further experience with cruising yachts, having successfully completed delivery trips from the UK to various Mediterranean ports. He is familiar with all aspects of boats and their gear and has over 40 years' experience of boating.
Chris holds an RYA qualification in Coastal Navigation and has gained a Diploma from the International Institute of Marine Surveyors (IIMS), specialising in the surveying of Yachts and Small Craft. However, he recently retired from full-time surveying in order to pursue a career with Boatshed North Wales as a broker.
Chris is proud to be a member of the volunteer crew at Porthdinllaen Lifeboat station as Head Launcher, responsible for shore operations. The photo shows the crew at a recent social event and Chris enjoying having the red carpet rolled out for him!!
