The GibSea 282 was one of the most innovative boats from the late 80's. She has an amazing amount of interior space down below, which would put some 34 footer boats to shame. The boat is meticulously maintained and lovingly looked after with a vast amount of money spent on upgrades and fittings plus renewed upholstery and headlinings. She has also just been copper-coated.
She is a rewarding and easy boat to sail with her furling jib and furling main, which means you don't have to leave the cockpit to handle the sails. Her cockpit is large, safe and comfortable and manoeuvring in and out of those tight marina berths is so much easier as she has a bow thruster fitted. The 18hp engine is capable of pushing her along at 6.5 knots but for more economical cruising 5.5 knots is more sensible.
The advantage of the lifting keel means that she can navigate shallow creeks, dry out on sandy beaches and harbours and utilise those cheaper drying moorings.
The forward cabin has a double berth leading to the main saloon. There is a wraparound settee around the cabin table which can convert to a double berth. The galley and chart table are starboard, and the good sized heads are to port. Behind the chart table is a large airy double berth cabin.
I can not emphasise enough how well this boat is presented and equipped. If you are looking for a boat that's ready to sail away today please don't miss out. Make an appointment to view.
