This is where we publish our boat related stories and articles, which range from world circumnavigation to rescue missions, humour and much, much more. So make yourself a coffee and settle yourself down to a good read.
We know you don't need an excuse to come and have a glass on us, catch up with old friends, hear about the most exciting way to buy and sell boats and be in London in time for watery Christmas shopping. But just in case you do - Boatshed is running the internationally renowned Fizz @ Five at the Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show.
Boatshed Cowes was officially launched on Saturday supported by a whole host of friends, family, colleagues and press at a party to end all parties.
The November weather and the visibility put paid to the Boatshed Isle of Wight Challenge but this didn't deter 50 powerboat racers, their support crews and family from giving us all a spectacle as they hurtled past at 40 knots. And the event was big enough to warrant a special message from the Queen's Harbour Master based in Portsmouth that the Boatshed.com challenge was taking place today. Hopefully not many ships in the area missed it!
Boatshed has become the title sponsor of a full throttle powerboat challenge being held to raise funds for a teenager badly injured in an accident two years ago. The event will see up to 20 boats, from P1 powerboats to Zapcats and Thundercats, whizz around the Isle of Wight in a thrilling end to the season.
That was the Boatshed cheerleading attempt as Dee Caffari launches her book in the USA today. The first books, hot off the press, will be on the Boatshed booth at Strictly Sail St Pete and I am sure that the guys and gals down there will have all sorts of competitions lined up for some lucky visitors. Remember Fizz @ Five as well (as if you'd forget!)
48th Annual Ft Lauderdale International Boat Show
Big congratulations to Dee Caffari who collected her MBE today at Buckingham Palace. Dee was honoured with the title after becoming the first woman to sail solo, non-stop around the world against the prevailing tides and currents.
As you know, Boatshed will go to any depths and lengths to make sure that your boat-buying experience is a good one but even we were stunned at the recent free diving world records that have just been broken by one stunningly brave British lady.
The official launch party for Boatshed Cowes will be taking place on Saturday 17th November at Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club from 3pm.
Steven from Boatshed Falmouth was recently honoured to be at the launch of Cockwells' 40' pilot cutter. This traditional family of boat builders is based in Falmouth and the beautiful boat is testament to the skills and dedication in this part of the world. The autumnal sunshine framed what was a very proud moment for the shipwrights, their families and a smattering of local dignitaries.
Boatshed Medway stepped in to save an event from disaster when a powercut hit the annual MDL Chatham Maritime Marina social. The only source of light for a good 10 minutes came from the Boatshed laptop, bravely lighting up the gloom and showing off the various listings on the site.
Boatshed is also being lauded this week for being mates with CraftInsure and by ensuring that we comply with good insurance practice. Believe me - this may not sound like much but the guys at CraftInsure were impressed enough with us that they even gave bottles of wine away. Now that's got to be a good thing!
Boatshed expands into Canada.
Today, the Southampton Boat Show 2007 draws to a close and we look back over some of the moments that have made it another scorcher for Boatshed.
The Boatshed team has been throwing themselves into the water inside a large inflatable ball in order to bring you the latest from this year's Southampton Boatshow. Not content with just being the most sociable stand at the show (Fizz @ Five - everyone is invited), the crew has also been trying out some of the fun to be had.
There have been some sights this week at the Boatshed stand but the one that stands out are the Australian sailing fans rubbing shoulders with the local constabulary (and no-one was drinking officer...honest!)
Southampton Boat Show dawned bright and hot today (Saturday) with environmental campaigns at the forefront of everybody’s mind.
The Southampton Boatshow is open for business and the Boatshed stand is buzzing. Our illustrious MD Neil Chapman was quick off the blocks with an interview for Gulf Radio and The Portsmouth News while the extended team of brokers, willing volunteers and friends were soon pressed into action by the groups of visitors wanting to learn for themselves about the Boatshed system.
The Southampton Boatshow in the UK is approaching and Boatshed.com expects record attendance at this years famous "Fizz @ Five" on the stand.
The Boatshed PR machine has been in full force and a few days ago, the team from the Hamble office managed to scare a journalist into writing a feature in Metro (a local UK newspaper delivered from Bath to Edinburgh via London and Manchester).
