The Legend 29s make a great family sailing boat. Designed by Van de Stadt they are like a Tardis inside with a decent sized saloon and loads of space to stow your gear. The hull is made of strip plank and sheathed in West epoxy with a GRP top - as close to GRP maintenance as you can get. The cockpit and the saloon is fitted out in wood. This boat needs a wash and some varnish to smarten her up, as the photos show. However, no expense has been spared since her re-fit in 2001 to keep her up to scratch. To give you a feel, here are some of the things that have been done. The engine has been rebuilt including new pistons, new fuel tank and lots more. She has had new laminated floors and frames, epoxy sheathing of hull and ply deck, new keel bolts and keel re-bedded with sikaflex. All deck fittings refastened & re-bedded with sikaflex. Sails have been washed, inspected and re-stitched as needed in Dec 2005, and she has not been sailed since. The cooker is new and unused. If you’d like more information or, would like to see her, just give us a call.
